Frank Lloyd Wright
March Ballons Sand 8x8
The March Ballons tile design is adapted from a presentation drawing which Mr. Wright submitted to Liberty magazine as one of twelve cover designs in 1927. Although not published at the time, Mr. Wright later modified it for use as a carpet design. Today, it is considered to be the most popular of all the Liberty covers and an outstanding example of asymmetrical composition. The March Ballons tile is displayed in a Oak Park frame by Dard Hunter.
